Laurie Watson Moss, 79, resident of Columbia, died Friday, April 26, 2024 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 2:30 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery with Jerry Kirk officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Laurie was born on October 30, 1944, in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Ralph Raymond Watson and the late Eugenia Cosper Watson. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1963 and received her B.A. in Education from Auburn University. On June 29, 1968 she married Douglas Walter Moss. Laurie loved spending time with her beloved family and friends, reading, and gardening. For several years she and her husband volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program through the church and the community. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ and lived a life of faithfulness and love for the Lord.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas Walter Moss of Columbia; two daughters, Rachel Moss (Chris) Adams of Brandon, Mississippi, and Rebekah Moss (Brent) Wright of Spring Hill, TN; granddaughter, Carson Wright of Spring Hill, TN; two step granddaughters, Audrey Adams and Lura Adams of Brandon, MS; and beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; Ralph Raymond Watson, Jerry Watson and Gene Watson.
Active pallbearers will be Chris Adams, Brent Wright, Lon Watson, Ray Watson, Randy Goodwin, and Tom McBee.
