Lawrence Doyle "L Parham

June 3, 1925 — April 10, 2017

Lawrence Doyle "L. D." Parham, 91, retired employee of Wright & Lopez Construction and resident of West Fifteenth Street, died Monday, April 10, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Mark Thomas and best friend Terry Lester officiating. Burial will follow in McCains Cemetery with Sister Marie Pressnell officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born June 4, 1925, in the Leipers Fork Community of Williamson County, he was the son of the late Lawrence Jesse Parham and the late Elsie Fox Parham. On January 8, 1956, he married Lillie Mae Grissom King Parham who preceded him in death November 14, 1999. Prior to his retirement at age 87 from the Maury County Landfill, Mr. Parham was a former employee of Wright & Lopez Construction in Columbia and Murfreesboro; and he had worked at CONALCO for several years. He also farmed many years in the Hollywood Community. A hardworking man, Mr. Parham put a lot of pride in his work and was very proud that in spite of having a disabled foot, he continued in the work force and contributing to society. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Christ, where he had served as a deacon and song leader. Survivors include his son, Doyle (Susie) Parham of Columbia; son-in-law, James White of Columbia; grandchildren, Joshua Parham, Justin Parham, Amanda Parham (Johnathan) Michael, Wendy King, Brenda King, Tammy King, Angie Lindsey, Joe Jones, Jeff Jones; 24 great grandchildren, including Tyler Parham, Zack Parham, Chandler Michael, Karson Michael, Chance Michael, Kylar Michael who were very dear to his heart; 20 great great grandchildren; special family dog Bingo; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughters, Joyce Jones, Janice White; son, Mack King, Jr., granddaughter, Kathy Senter; sister, Helen Potts; and brothers, Wilburn Parham and Luther Parham. Active pallbearers will be Johnathan Michael, Justin Parham, Josh Parham, Tyler Parham, Zack Parham, Chandler Michael, Chance Michael, Joe Jones, and Jeff Jones. Honorary pallbearers will include members of Pentecostal Church of Christ, former co-workers at CONALCO, Wright & Lopez Construction; & Maury County Solid Waste; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Douglas Kennedy & staff; Dr. Larry Britt; and 2nd Floor Stepdown at Maury Regional Medical Center.
