LEE ROY REESE Mr. Lee Roy Reese, 84, retired carpenter and resident of Tom Fitzgerald Road, died Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Garden with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Building Fund or Freewill Baptist Foreign Missions. The Maury County native was the son of the late Knox F. Reese and Ida Lentz Reese. He was married to Ruby Matlock Reese who preceded him in death July 13, 1999. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Herman) Baker of Hohenwald, Deborah Estes of Columbia; one son, James Reese of Columbia; one sister, Lilly Whitley of Nashville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lela Davis and four brothers, Lonnie Reese, Bill Reese, Marvin Reese and Hershel Reese. Pallbearers will be Randy Baker, David Brown, John Baker, Mark Boshers, Marion Hill, Jeff Newsome and Ben Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Bowers, B.H. Price, Bobby Dye, Sonny Robinson and Bud Creel.
