Mrs. Leslie Karen "Sissy" Slaughter Fitzgerald, 41, employee of Real World Tours and resident of the Williamsport Community, died Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joe Duvall and Randy Kersey officiating. Burial will be in West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the daughter of Earlene Phaye Fowler Slaughter Pipkin of Williamsport and the late Lester Slaughter. She was former secretary at Hampshire School and enjoyed working in her flower garden and weekends at the Tennessee River with family and friends. She was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, David Eugene Fitzgerald of Williamsport; one daughter, Destini Blanche Fitzgerald of Williamsport; one son, Dustin Blake Fitzgerald of Williamsport; two brothers, Herbert Daniel (Sherry Lynn) Slaughter and David Lester (Tammy Renee) Slaughter, both of Columbia; stepfather, Jerry Wayne Pipkin of Williamsport; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gene & Ann Fitzgerald of Williamsport; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dawn & Brent LeMay; loving friends, Kay Walters, Linda Peery, Christopher Mayberry; three nephews, Kerby Daniel Slaughter, Christopher Ryan Slaughter, David Logan Slaughter, all of Columbia; two nieces, Summer Faith Slaughter of Columbia; , Mia Lea Braxton Slaughter of Alabama; one great nephew, Landon Ryan Slaughter; and her beloved pets, Samantha and George. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Buck & Hattie Scott Slaughter; Grady & Lula Bell Fowler; and pet Chase. Pallbearers will be Kerby Slaughter, Ryan Slaughter, Logan Slaughter, Brent LeMay, Joey Hargrove, Kelsey Walker, Danny "Tank" Warner, and Mark Dye. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Gonyon, Ben Woody, Lee Masterson, Max Davis, and employees of Real World Tours.
