View Funeral WebcastMr. Lester Ragsdale, 70, resident of Cherry Street, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at St. Thomas Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Maury County native was the son of the late Clarence Ragsdale and Willie Mae Potts Ragsdale. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Mr. Ragsdale was retired from International Comfort Products where he worked as a press operator for 18 years. He was also employed at Consolidated Aluminum Corporation for 18 years. He was an avid pool player. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Ruby Mae Martin Ragsdale of Columbia; a sister, Ruby Ann Ragsdale of Nashville; sisters-in-law, Esther Mae Ragsdale of Franklin, Mildred Ragsdale, Fay Cole, Melba Joyce Reed, Hazel Iglesias, all of Columbia, and Elizabeth Martin of Santa Fe; a brother-in-law, Billy Martin, Sr. of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Scott and 3 brothers, Euelon Ragsdale, Marshall Ragsdale, and Billy Ragsdale. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Luther Stewart, Jimmy Black, and Donald Sharp.
