Lewis Walker Farris

Lewis Walker Farris, 88, long-time resident of Nashville, died Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care. Funeral services for Mr. Farris will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Barry Farris officiating. Burial will follow in Delk Cemetery in Kettle Mills. The family will visit with friends Monday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Born December 30, 1933 in Maury County, Lewis was the son of the late John Kenneth Farris and the late Lois Mai Patton Farris. During his career he worked as a comptroller for Rieth-Riley Road Construction for 15 years, and then opened his own Construction Company. He was self-employed for over 42 years with several business ventures. He loved fishing with his father on the Duck River during his childhood years and loved to fish and camp most of his life. He is survived by his son, Garry Farris (Karen Ingram) of Nashville; daughter, Cathy Farris (Mark) Richards of Columbia; sister, Angie (Robert) Young of Decatur, Alabama; grandchildren, Megan Farris, Ashley Hambrick, Daniel (Shea) Richards; great grandchildren, Ava Hambrick, Lucas Farris, Rolen Richards; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Neda Dickey, and brother-in-law, Gene Dickey. Active pallbearers will be Matthew Young, Bob Young, Daniel Richards, Mark Richards, and Steve Dickey.
