Lillian Cummings Mrs. Lillian Thomas Cummings, 87, resident of Cemetery Avenue, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Adair and Rev. Donald Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in Gibsonville Cemetery. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Ode Thomas and Nannie Waltrop Thomas. She was married to William Kenneth Cummings who preceded her in death April 28, 1979. She was employed by Taylor's Laundry for twenty years and was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mildred (Otis) Whitley of Columbia, Mrs. Shirley (Roy) Mitchell of Culleoka, Mrs. Fay (Gene) Dodson of Ethridge; one son, Odie Cummings of Columbia; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, William Harlan Cummings, one brother, Earl Thomas, and one great-granddaughter, Lisa Fuller. Pallbearers will be Michael Whitley, Randy Whitley, Tommy White, Kenny White, W.H. Cummings, Jr., Troy Mitchell, Allen Pressnell, Zane Wells and Tim Sharpton.
