Linda Lee Wilson Baxter

Mrs. Linda Lee Wilson Baxter, 68, long-time resident of Skelley Road in the Bethel Community, died Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Rosewood Manor. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Bruce Buttrey and Rip Baxter, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Cave Springs Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the Santa Fe School Library Santa Fe Pike, Santa Fe, 38482. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Stanley Garlin Wilson and Irene Wakefield Wilson. She was a graduate of Santa Fe High School and a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Baxter was legal secretary for a number of years for the law firm of MacFarland, Colley, Blank & Jack. Later she was employed at General Electric of Columbia as purchasing agent until her retirement. She was married November 26, 1955 to Ocy Albert Baxter who died July 12, 2004. Survivors include two daughters, Dawn (Ronnie) Kephart of Santa Fe and Denise (Kevin) Rogers of Columbia ; a son, Todd (Melissa) Baxter of Santa Fe; five grandchildren, Paige Kephart, Madison Kephart, Rachael Baxter, Tanner Baxter and Reed Brady; a sister, Reba (Freeman) Harris of Union City; two brothers, Dewey (Betty) Wilson of Santa Fe and Ray (Betty) Wilson of Smyrna; several nieces and nephews. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are former employees of General Electric of Columbia.
