Linda Kay Lindsey Sharpton, 69, resident of Blackberry Road, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1864, Columbia, TN 38402. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Richard Amos Lindsey and Dorris Cummins Lindsey Mayberry. Mrs. Sharpton retired from Tennessee Tire, where she was the secretary for many years. Survivors include her husband, James Glenn Sharpton of Columbia, whom she married March 9, 1974; son, James Richard Rummage of Bowling Green, KY; daughter, Pamela Kay Rummage of Columbia; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Sally Lindsey Rubert of Perryville, MO; brother, Anthony (Candace) Lindsey of Smyrna; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
