Mrs. Linda Jeanette Cozart Workman, born August 25, 1938 in Marshall County, was the daughter of Desdie Roberts Cozart Driezen of Columbia and the late Johnny E. Cozart. For the past eight years, Linda called the Southport Community near Mt. Pleasant her home. She passed away at her residence Saturday, May 5, 2007. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Homer D. Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Williamsport Baptist Cemetery. After many years as a seamstress for Publix Manufacturing Company, Linda returned to school at age 54, finally earning her high school diploma. She then attended Pulaski Vocational School and was pinned as a Licensed Practical Nurse at age 55. During her nursing career, she cared for thousands of patients at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin and NHC Columbia, before retiring in 2004. At the time of her death, she was serving as a member of the Maury County Grand Jury. Linda enjoyed her retirement days pursing her passions of reading, quilting, and caring for her beautiful grandchildren. She also loved working in the yard, growing tomatoes, watching the hummingbirds, and playing with her dogs and cats. Additionally, she loved watching Atlanta Braves baseball, NASCAR racing, and was an avid Tenneeesee Titans fan. She was first married to Bobby Frank Hedrick, Sr., father of her children, who died January 30, 1992. Linda married James "Bonedaddy" Workman July 3, 1986. He preceded her in death February 3, 2006. In addition to her mother, Linda is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Henry) Hulshof of Lewisburg, Candy (Terry) Stewart of Culleoka, and Mona Hedrick of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Bobby Hedrick, Jr. of Pulaski; two sisters, Jane (Gary) Henson and Ann Bonilla, both of Columbia; three step-children, Jamie Workman , Andy Workman, and Karen McConnell, all of Mt. Pleasant. She was the proud grandmother of four granddaughters, Brooke McFarland Walters, Kelley Stewart, Kelsey Stewart, and Marissa Malone; a grandson, Robert Brooks; a great-granddaughter, Morgan Walters; many step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Cozart. Active pallbearers are Jamie Workman, James Turner, Jr., Davis Honey, Richard Brown, Randy Workman, Andy Workman, Ronnie Roberts, Robert Brooks, Darrell Norman, Junior Norman, and Jeff Henson. Honorary pallbearers include Hoyt Tucker, Tina Brown, Pam Honey, Terry Stewart, Henry Hulshof, Trent Honey, H. B. and Wilma Stewart, Gary Henson, Sherry Harris, Pamela Welch, Dr. William Robinson, the 1992 Pulaski Vo-Tech LPN Class, and former nursing co-workers. Even in death, Linda continues to care for others, by donating her corneas and tissues to help children with special medical needs.
