Lloyd Alvis Rose

December 21, 1925 — July 12, 2007

Mr. Lloyd Alvis Rose, 81, retired from Monsanto Chemical Co. and resident of Culleoka Highway, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Friendship Cemetery, c/o Joe W. The Giles County native was the son of the late Floyd Cornelius Rose and Jesse Foster Rose. He spent most of his life in Culleoka. On August 11, 1962 he married Lequita Joy Peery Rose who preceded him in death January 16, 2000. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Rose was a charter member of the Culleoka Fire Department. He enjoyed UT sports, fishing, gardening and had been involved in mission work with the Maury Baptist Association. He was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. Survivors include a daughter, Angela Joy Rose of Columbia; a son, Kevin Lloyd (Lisa Carol) Rose of Pulaski; one sister, Doris (Jim) Bright of Murchison, Texas; one grandson, Jackson Rose of Pulaski; one granddaughter, Carley Rose of Pulaski; three sisters-in-law, Imogne (Ewell B.) Harris, Geraldine (W.C.) Johnson, Judy (Curtis) Anderson; one brother-in-law, Hugh E. (Carolyn) Peery; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Harris, Jeff Harris, Nathan Peery, Byron Peery, Ken Jordan, Cam Johnson and Troy Dugger. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug and Charlotte Burton, Larry and Mary Auvville, Bobby and Priscilla Potts, Bob Ramsey, Windell Westmoreland, Jack Westmoreland and Larry Delk.
