Mrs. Lona Mae Rochester Beard Westmoreland, 81, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and a resident of Culleoka, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be conducted Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at Mooresville Baptist Church. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakeandnichols.com. The family suggests memorials be made to Mooresville Baptist Church 1030 Bryant Cemetery Road Lewisburg, Tennessee 37091. Born on May 4, 1940, in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late Hosey Robert Rochester and the late Mae Bell Bobo Rochester. She attended Culleoka High School where she excelled in basketball. She loved sports and in her later years was on a bowling league and played softball. Mrs. Westmoreland worked at Maury Regional Medical Center for 20 years where she was the evening shift supervisor for medical records. Lona enjoyed gardening, cooking, motorcycle trike riding and was a former member of the Columbia Civitan Club. She was a long time member of First Church of the Nazarene in Columbia and in later years enjoyed a membership at Mooresville Baptist Church where she had many brothers and sisters in the Lord. Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Wayne) Haynes of Culleoka; grandchildren, Chasity (Paul) Blalock of Dickson and Caleb (Emily) Haynes of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Story DeAnn Haynes, Daily Mae Haynes, and Reverie Lynn Blalock; brothers, Charlie Royce (Mary) Rochester of Monroe, Michigan and Bobby (Jean) Rochester of Decatur, Alabama; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Pam Rochester of Virginia and her extended Westmoreland and Beard families. In addition to her parents and her brother, Don Rochester, she was preceded in death by her first husband Ronald Murphy Beard on May 30, 2003 whom she married on June 1, 1957 and by her second husband, Alvin Windell Westmoreland who preceded her in death on June 19, 2018 whom she married on February 10, 2007. Family served as pallbearers.
