View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Mrs. Lorraine McAulay Dreaden, 94, longtime resident of Columbia, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 21, 2014 with family at her side in Louisville, Kentucky. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Graymere Church of Christ with John Vaughan and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Saturday from 12 noon until time of service at the church. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Houston County native was the daughter of the late Alex McAulay and Ada Pollard McAulay. On May 2, 1937 she married the love of her life Thomas Buford Dreaden and enjoyed sixty-nine years of wedded bliss until his heavenly Father called him home on August 28, 2006. Mrs. Dreaden had been employed as an undercover security guard at Castner-Knott in Nashville and later as a Department Manager at Walmart. She was a Super Star Volunteer at Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary for over twenty-five years where she also served as Corresponding Secretary, Vice President and President. She was a former member of Maury County Home Demonstration Club and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. Mrs. Dreaden was an active member of Graymere Church of Christ where she had served as a teacher of the Professional Ladies Bible Class and was a member of the Wanda Robinson Sunday School Class. Survivors include her daughter, Jane Dreaden Johnson of Louisville, KY; granddaughter, Sherrye (Scott) Isaacs of Louisville, KY; grandson, Stacy Eugene (Tracy) Johnson of Louisville, KY; great granddaughter, Abby Johnson of Louisville, KY; great grandson, Jacob Johnson of Louisville, KY; sister-in-law, Christine Kirkland of Fredericksburg, VA; brothers-in-law, Howard (Young) Dreaden of Hampton, GA and Carney (Madeline) Wright of Clarksville, TN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Norman Dreaden, brother, Elwood McAulay and son-in-law, Thomas Eugene Johnson. Active pallbearers will be Joe Delk, Buddy Voss, Edwin Lovell, Ron Bishop, Eddie Baker and Charles Smith. Honorary pallbearers include Mabel Delk, Sue Lovell, Ann Elias, Mildred Voss and past and present Elders and Deacons of Graymere Church of Christ.
