LOUIS H. FISCHER, SR.Mr. Louis Harvey Fischer, 80, retired employee of Ford Glass Company and resident of Barry Drive in Madison, died Tuesday, February 18, 2003, at Skyline Medical Center.Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Madison Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin Shrum and Rev. Jim Chatham officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. and Friday after 10:00 A.M. at Madison Funeral Home.The Davidson County native was the son of the late Arthur Adolf Fischer and Frances Copeland Fischer. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and retired with thirty years service. He served as President of the 137th Ordinance Battalion and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Fischer was a longtime coach and supporter of the Madison Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball. He was a member of Inglewood Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Peggy Roberts Fischer of Madison; two sons, Louis Harvey (Beth) Fischer, Jr. of Columbia; Charles Michael (Lisa) Fischer of Nashville; one brother, James (Gretel) Fischer of Fairview; Tennie Gourley of Donelson; Ida Frances (Robert) Pitt of Noreen, Tennessee; Fannie Jones of Nashville; and three grandchildren, Will Fischer, John Fischer, and Patrick Fischer.Pallbearers will be Bobby Pitt, Jimmy Fischer, Ronnie Jones, Bobby Jones, Jr., Will Fischer, John Fischer, Patrick Fischer, and Barney Cannady. Honorary pallbearers will be Dudney Miller Sunday School Class, Friendship Class, Rivergate Mall Morning Walkers, Dr. Robert Pilkinton, Dr. Stephen T. Ticaric; Dr. Fernando Miranda; Doctors and Staff of Skyline Hospital.
