Louise Fitzgerald Anderson, 101, homemaker and resident of Columbia, died Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Ezell Rose and Brother W. D. Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born October 2, 1917 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late A.C. Fitzgerald, Sr. and the late Annie Priest Fitzgerald. Mrs. Anderson received her education in the Maury County School System. On October 30, 1937, she married the love of her life, Edgbert Young Anderson who preceded her in death on June 5, 1982. She was a member of West End Baptist Church. She enjoyed canning, baking cakes, making candy, embroidering, sewing, and spending time with family. Survivors include her nephew, Jimmy (Linda) Fitzgerald of Columbia; nieces, Barbara Rittenberry, of Columbia, Linda Reams of Virginia; Marie Potts of Columbia; several great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews. In addition to her parents and husband of 45 years, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ivie Pigg; and brothers, William Herbert Fitzgerald, Clyde “Dude” Fitzgerald, A. C. Fitzgerald, Jr.; nieces, Ruth Williams, Mary Ann Pigg Ryan; nephew, James William “Buddy” Fitzgerald; and great nephew, John Rittenberry. Active pallbearers will be Anderson Van Bibber, James Fitzgerald, Tim Fitzgerald, Daniel Rittenberry, Nathaniel Rittenberry, Craig Wallace, Eddie Williams, Cromer Jackson, and Ronnie Harris. Honorary pallbearers include Barbara and Joe Wade, Buddy Smith, Sue York, Bobbie Baggett, Linda Rose, Jackie Thomason, Fay Jackson, Reba Honeycut, Kathlene Rogers, Trula Surles, Judy Anderson, Imogene Harris, and Audrey Scott. The family would like to express a special thanks to the sixth-floor staff at Maury Regional Medical Center and the staff of NHC, and Dr. Charles Ball for the care of their aunt.
