Mrs. Lonnie Lucile McMichael Green, 93, resident of Columbia since 2002, died Saturday, April 21, 2007 at NHC of Columbia.Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Bastrop, Louisiana with Rev. Mark B. Benge, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Christ Church Cemetery in Bastrop. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home, 2016 East Main Street, Bastrop, Louisiana 71220. Notes of sympathy may be made to www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Castor, Louisiana in Bienville Parish, she was the daughter of the late John Jacob McMichael and Annie Campbell McMichael. A graduate of Louisiana Tech, she taught elementary school in Castor, Baton Rouge, and for many years in Bastrop, Louisiana where she made her home since 1940 until she moved to Columbia in 2002 to be near her daughter. She was married for 60 years to Arthur N. Green who died February 5, 2003. While making her home in Columbia, she attended First United Methodist Church. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bastrop, where she served on numerous committees and was a life member and past president of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Green was a member and past president of Delta Kappa Gamma and a member of the Literary Forum and Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and William "Bill" Arnett of Columbia; two grandsons, Mark Fowler (Lisa) Arnett of Florence, Alabama and John William (Angela) Arnett of Cookeville, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren, Seth Fowler Arnett, Benjamin Arthur Arnett, Lonnie William Arnett, and Mattie Grace Arnett. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Lee McMichael and Ronald McMichael. Active pallbearers are Mark Arnett, John Arnett, Sam Williams, Jim Bickley, Eugene Franklin, Gale Garrett, Dr. John Garrett, and Bob Green. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Carter Cox, Douglas Bickley, George Smith, Mike Bell, and members of the Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church in Bastrop.
