Mrs. Luthene Littrell Derryberry, 82, former longtime resident of Rip Steele Road, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital.éFuneral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Curtis Dowdy, Wayne Hardison and John Tracy officiating.éé Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens.éé The family will visit with friends Wednesday after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to Highland Church of Christ Building Fund, 497 East James M. Campbell Blvd., Columbia, TN, 38401.éé Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.A native of the Five Points Community in Lawrence County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late J.E. Littrell and Alberta Frazier Littrell.éé She was a 1943 graduate of Columbia Central High School.ééé That same year she married Wayne James Derryberry who preceded her in death April 18, 2001.éé She was a homemaker and a member of Highland Church of Christ.Mrs. Derryberry was always an outgoing person who loved interacting with people.éé She was a former longtime member of the Home Demonstration Club and loved crafts and flowers.éé In recent years she had made her home at Life Care Center where she enjoyed the activities and the social life with other residents and their families.Survivors include her daughter, Waynese (Jimmy) Hardison of Columbia; her son, Jim (Stephanie) Derryberry of Columbia; a brother, Paul (Elizabeth) Littrell of Atlanta, GA; three granddaughters, Lisa (Terry) Ervin, Julie (Darrell) Prentice, Janna (Chris) Stewart all of Columbia; six great grandchildren, Terrylee Ervin, Alison Griffin, Dylan Stewart, Chase Stewart, Hunter Ervin, Logan Prentice all of Columbia; and three sisters-in-law, Rebecca Harmon, Ludie Burns, Dorothy (Clifford) Johnson of Columbia.éPallbearers will be Chris Stewart, Darrell Prentice, Jay Burns, Gene Johnson, Donald Goad and Russell Gibbons.Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Andrew Sisk, Dr. Moataz Toban, Dr. John Simmons, Bobby Harmon, Jeremy Butt, Sam Beddingfield, the staff of Life Care Center, and the 2nd Floor ICU Nursing staff at Maury Regional Hospital.éé
