Lyda Amanda Canady Parham

Lyda Amanda Canady Martin Parham, 88, former longtime resident of Columbia, died Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Grace Health Care in Whites Creek. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born June 4, 1928, in Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late Eddie Canady and the late Bonnie Harrington Canady. In 1974, she married Columbia Police Sergeant Maurice Parham, who preceded her in death July 7, 1998. She was very active in supporting the Columbia Police Dept. and was still invited to social affairs after his passing. In her early years, she was employed as a sales clerk at Burt's Dress Shop in Columbia; and later Mrs. Parham pursued her passion for sewing and retired as a seamstress from Weather Tamer. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her step-daughter, Laurice Parham (Jimmy) Crescenzi; step-son, Maurice Glenn (Jane) Parham; step-grandchildren, Tiara Tanzilli, Ashley Parham, Matthew Parham, Anthony "Rooster" Parham; brother-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Canady, Ollie Watts, Peggy Feichtinger; and brothers, Dorris Canady and Leonard Canady.
