Lynda L Bradford Ponder

Mrs. Lynda L. Bradford Ponder, 63, retired Registered Nurse at St. Thomas Hospital, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at her residence on Spring Lake Drive in Spring Hill. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Wedgewood officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mrs. Ponder attended Columbia Central High School, Belmont University, Columbia State Community College, and St. Thomas School of Nursing where she received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church and a former member of Order of Eastern Star and Rainbow Girls. Survivors include her husband forty-three years, Charles Ponder of Spring Hill; two sons, C. Scott Ponder of Nashville; James R. Ponder of Spring Hill; one daughter, Teri (John) Driver of Bethesda Community; two sisters, Fay Young and Ann James, both of Columbia; two step-daughters, Vivian Silcox of Carthage; Kim Duvard of Springfield, Tennessee; four grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; four nephews, and several great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Chris Young, Tim Young, Kevin James, David James, Dennis Ponder, and John Driver.
