Arthur Lynn Palmer, 60, resident of Starkville, MS, died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. A memorial service will be conducted Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Bigbyville United Methodist Church in Columbia, TN with Rev. Tony Brown officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 p.m. to service time at the church. Born in Mobile, Alabama, he was the son of the late Herschel Elgie Palmer and Rose Johnson Palmer. He was a 1969 graduate of Lee High School in Columbus, MS and the University of Iowa. He served in the U. S. during Viet Nam. Mr. Palmer was retired from Trane & America Standard and served as Global Director of Human Resources. Survivors include daughters, Tracy (Marcus) Carter of Birmingham, AL, Allison (Lesie) Lewis of Corinth, MS, Jenna Palmer of Zhanjagarg, China, and Jennya Buraya of Singapore; sons, James (Jessica) Palmer of Mountain Home, AK and Chandler Parker of Columbia; grandchildren, Carter Lewis of Corinth, MS, Camden Lewis of Corinth, and Kipling Carter of Birmingham, AL; aunt, Ruby Grace (Marvin Wayne) Creekmore of Columbus, MS; and his wife, English Marsengill Palmer of Columbia. Honorary pallbearers include Sam Bardwell and members of Bigbyville United Methodist Church. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors of Columbia are assisting the family with arrangements.
