Mable Davis Butler

February 20, 1915 — April 15, 2008

On April 15, 2008, Mrs. Mable Elizabeth Davis Butler died in her beloved home of 70 years on Mapleash Avenue. Mrs. Mable was surrounded by loving friends and her dog Blossom.Graveside services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Bill Williamson officiating. The family will visit with friends at the graveside following the service. Memorials may be made to Maury County Senior Citizens Meals Program, P.O. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late A.T. Davis and Johnnie Smith Davis. She was a 1934 graduate of Central High School and attended night school at Mrs. Anderson's Business School. Mrs. Butler was employed at Tennessee Knitting Mills for 12 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Reese Butler in 1869 and her sister, Lila Davis in 1997. Survivors include close friends Kaye and Danny Walters of Hampshire and their daughter Nichole (Brandon) Roberts who loved Mrs. Mable for many years. Special thanks to Dr. Shawn Reed, Dr. Robert McClure, Quality First, Hospice of the Highland Rim and especially to Cathi Smith and Dolly Branch who were angels in a time of need.
