Mr. Mack Spencer Parson, 62, bondsman for Stoney's Bail Bonding Company and former self-employed contractor, died Sunday, November 6, 2005 at his residence on Sunset Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Donald Pruitt and Dennis Satterfield officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The Maury County native was the son of the late J. B. Parson and Virginia Hill Parson. He served in the U. S. Navy and was a member of the House of Prayer Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Jayne Norman Parson of Columbia; a daughter, Tracey Parson of Columbia; a son, Michael (Tammy) Parson of Columbia; grandchildren, Joseph Symlar, Sheliah Cooper, Stephanie (Jeff) Hines and Jon Colburn, all of Columbia; two brothers, his twin, Jack Parson of Columbia and Charles (Mary) Parson of Okeechobee, Florida; three sisters, Jonola (Fred) Pullen and Jean (Bill) Scharrer, both of Mt. Pleasant, Ellen (Doug) Stanford of Athens, Alabama; several nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Shirley and Wayne Phillips and Lesa McKennon; a great-grandson, Jeffery Hines, Jr.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bobby and Alma Norman. He was preceded in death by a brother, J. B. "Sonny" Parson, Jr. Active pallbearers are Brian Parson, Condley Parson, Monte Norman, Lee Norman, Jimmy Phillips, Wayne Scharrer, Doug Heathcoat, Donald Stonecipher, Jon Colburn, Bill Hood, Eddie Gray and Blake Parson. Honorary pallbearers include employees of Stoney's Bail Bonding Company, friends at the Maury County Sheriff's Department and Columbia Police Department.
