Mr. Mackie Lee Hardison, 78, retired manager of the Packing Department of Georgia Boot Company, employee of the Garden Center at Wal-Mart and resident of Cherry Street, died Saturday, April 24, 2004 at Williamson Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Henry Mobley officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery at Culleoka with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1212, Columbia, 38401. Armed Forces during Peacetime. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Florine Young Hardison of Columbia; a daughter, Kathy Barnhill of Columbia; two greanddaughters, Kristy Michelle (Anthony) Beal of Dresden and Ayesha Lynn (Davy) Parker of Columbia; four great-grandchildren, Kala Michelle Beal and Anthony Dakota Beal of Dresden, Chasity Lynn Parker and David Benjamin Parker of Columbia; a brother, William (Dot) Hardison of Pulaski; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Harris and Ruth Andrews and two brothers, John Hardison and Elvin Hardison. Active pallbearers are Dakota Beal, Jeff Moore, Chris Oliver, Freddie Young, Larry Hardison, Billy Hardison, Rick Harris and Gary Hardison.Honorary pallbearers include associates at Wal-Mart, Dr. Patrick Murphy and Floor Nurses of the Oncology Department at Williamson Medical Center.
