Madalene Lovett Brown

Mrs. Ollie Madalene Lovett Brown, 86, resident of Will Brown Road, died Monday, September 29, 2008 at Rosewood Manor. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bobby Sampson officiating. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Old Lasea Church of Christ, c/o Joe Farlow, 4235 Highway 431, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late William Lovett and Eva Leona Hargrove Lovett. In 1938 she married Roy James Brown who preceded her in death in 1973. She was a homemaker and a member of Old Lasea Church of Christ. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Shelva Dean Hickerson of Cornersville, Mrs. Ogene Faye Flippo of Unionville, Mrs. Cherry West of Franklin; one brother, Leonard Lovett of Columbia; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Osborne, Mrs. Angelyne Martin both of Lewisburg, Mrs. June Bills of Columbia, Mrs. Shirley Rankin of Spring Hill; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, William Vernon Brown; grandson, James West; great-grandchild, Mary Beth Brown; two brothers, Ellis Lovett, Louis Lovell; and one sister, Mrs. Violet Miller. Pallbearers will be Dwight Hickerson, Kyle Hickerson, John Brown, Mike Whitehead, Roger Richardson and Mark Gregory.
