Mrs. Annie Mae Wiley Slaughter, 78, died May 3, 2006 at her residence on Pleasant Drive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Garner officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Saturday after 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Grover Wiley and Bertha Roberts Wiley. On April 24, 1943 she married Willie Mitchell Slaughter who preceded her in death February 1, 1997. Mrs. Slaughter owned and operated Mae's Crafts & Porcelain Dolls and was active for many years in Wagon Wheelers' Square Dancers Club. She was a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Linda Attkisson (George) Foster of Culleoka, Mary Ann (Jerry) Davis of Athens, AL, Betty Stanfill of Columbia, Brenda (Billy Ray) Yancey of Hamilton, GA; two sisters, Maude Goodwin of Spring Hill, Eula Bundrant of Lavergne; one brother, Odell Wiley of Nashville; one sister-in-law, Frances Wiley of Williamsport; twelve grandchildren, Torey Kelley, Dana Dean, Sandie Whitaker, Amanda Ingram, Jason Kelley, Shane Davis, Brandon Davis, Cliff Stanfill, Russ Stanfill, Jeremy Ledford, Holly Gibson, Mitchell Yancey; and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wiley and a great-granddaughter, Taylor Mae Ingram. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Torey Kelley, Jason Kelley, Shane Davis, Brandon Davis, Cliff Stanfill, Russ Stanfill and Jeremy Ledford. Honorary pallbearers will be Employees at Caring Hearts Healthcare, Marilyn King, Jennifer Kelley, Rosemary King, special friends, Nancy Leinhart and Brenda Barnhill and members of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church.
