Maggie Yowell

Mrs. Maggie Lee Spires Yowell, 67, former resident of Columbia, died Sunday, January 21, 2007, at Medical Center Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Paul Spires and Rosie Wiley Spires. She was married to James Everett Yowell who preceded her in death on September 2, 2001. Survivors include one daughter, Emma Brown of Columbus, Georgia; four sisters, Margaret McClain of Columbus, Georgia; Shirley Bunting, Patricia Spires, and Virginia Watson, all of Columbia; one brother, Bobby Spires of Columbia; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Watson and Mary Carol Spires, and one brother, Paul Roger Spires. Pallbearers will be Danny Grooms, Charlie Grooms, Donnie Spires, Matthew Spires, Glen Davis, and Jonathan McClain.
