Malcolm Patterson "Bunny Breadman" Hood, Jr., 74, resident of Royal Oaks Drive, died Friday, March 9, 2007, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with David Morris and Tony Faggello officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The Maury County native was the son of the late Malcolm P. Hood, Sr. and Eva Mae Roberts Hood. He was first married to Christine Huckaby Hood who preceded him in death on September 16, 1996. He served his country in the United States Navy for four years in the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1955 and was a member of VFW. Mr. Hood retired from Lewis Brothers Bakery Company as a salesman after forty years. He was a member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Cothran Chunn Hood whom he married in 1997; one son, Kevin (Tammy) Hood of Columbia; one sister, Shirley (Jeff) Crain of Columbia; one brother, Allen Ray (Peggy) Hood of Ashland City; three grandchildren, Christine McKenzie Hood , Caylynn Morgan Hood, and Mychael Laine Chunn, Navy R.O.T.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mike Brown, Danny Wise, Joel Wise, Lester Crane, Mychael Laine Chunn, and Nicole Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank McBride, Larry Brown, Larry Houghton, Joe Johns, Bobby Huckaby, Phil Harris, Carter South, Oscar Bradford, Paul Collins, Frank Nelson, Joe Chase, past and present employees at Lewis Brothers Bakery, staff at Life Care Center, elders and deacons at Highland Church of Christ, and Dr. Thomas Dake.
