Mamie Sue Lessel Pannell

Mrs. Mamie Sue Lessel Pannell, 90, resident of Cothran Road, died Friday, January 19, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Burial will be in Forrest Hills Cemetery in Memphis. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Union County, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Venson Monroe Lessel and Lula Etta Thompson Lessel. Survivors include four daughters, Teresa (William) Brewer of Columbia, Janet Pannell of Nashville, Nancy Love Conley of Orlando, Florida, and Betty Franklin of Reno, Nevada; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. W. Pannell; a son, Clarence Michael Pannell; three sisters; and two brothers. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are in charge of local arrangements.
