Marcus Matthew "Poopy" Mikits, 37, former truck driver for Ryder Corporation in Spring Hill, died Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Ray Pennington, Jr. officiating. A native of Lockport, New York, he was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, flying remote-control airplanes, landscaping, and was a fabulous dozier operator. Additionally, he was a wonderful son and cook. He loved his wife, daughter, and son who were the highlights of his life. Survivors include his wife, Karrie Ann Burbee Mikits of Culleoka; a daughter, Kala Marie Mikits of Culleoka; a son, Joshua Matthew Mikits of Culleoka; his parents, Stuart and Charlotte Bentley Mikits of Santa; two sisters, April (Tony) Hall of Huntsville, Alabama and Pamela (Cliff) Reliford of Thompson Station; two brothers, David Mikits of Oregon and Jason (Tiffany) Mikits of Lockport, New York; paternal grandmother, Norma Jones Mikits of Lehi, Utah; mother-in-law, Catherine Johnson Burbee of Lockport, New York; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Cathryn. Pallbearers are Stuart Mikits, Joshua Mikits, David Mikits, Jason Mikits, Dennis Haskin, Bill Winn, Johnny "Taz" Dyer, and Cliff Reliford.
