Mrs. Margaret Kathryn Johnson Bryant, 65, retired from Bell South and resident of Woods Drive, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Kirk Brothers and David Craig officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Columbia Academy, 1101 West 7th Street, Columbia 38401. Born in Columbia, she attended Highland Elementary School, Whitthorne Junior High School and was a 1959 graduate of Columbia Central High School. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ, the Margaret Yarbrough Circle of the Kings' Daughters and Southern Grace Red Ladies. Survivors include a daughter, Tricia (Clem) Jones of Florence, Kentucky; two sons, James Allen (Susan) Bryant of Columbia and Michael (Tracy) Bryant of Murfreesboro; her mother, Kathryn "Ted" Rayburn Johnson of Columbia; a brother, Albert Sidney "Pete" Johnson, Jr. of Columbia; three grandchildren, Craig Richardson of Florence, Kentucky, Alan Bryant and Alana Bryant, both of Columbia; a niece, Kelley Johnson of Lawrenceburg; a nephew, Kristopher (Shawn) Johnson of Murray, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Sidney Johnson, Sr. Active pallbearers are Leroy Tatum, Richard McAdams, Wayne Riley, Joel Martin, Dan Tatum, Larry Otterback, Tommy Cook, and Billy Springer. Honorary pallbearers include member of the 1959 Class at Central High School, David Smith, Dr. Ben Gardner, Dr. Richard Schneider, Dr. Angelo Canonico, Jim Dooley, James Hardison, Robert Walters, J. P. Hines, Donnie Chunn, Jim Bass, and retired Bell South employees.
