Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Kennedy Williams VanFossen Clark, 95, also known by family and friends as "Margie" , died peacefully at her granddaughter's residence in Jacksonville, Florida on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jeff Jacob officiating. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Margie graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1929 and lived in Columbia until 1975 when she moved to Jacksonville, Florida to be closer to her son and his family. She was a member of First United Methodist Church while living in Columbia and a member of Ortega United Methodist Church while residing in Jacksonville.Margie's kind soul and joyous spirit were cherished during her lifetime and will be tremendously missed by all those fortunate enough to have been touched by her love. Survivors include one son, Charlie D. Williams, Jr. and his wife Edythe of Interlachen, Florida; four granddaughters, Mary Margaret (Steven) Furlong of Maple Grove, MN; Nancy (Jerry) Roscoe, Cherrie (Ricky James) Weathington and Carol (Jay) Daniel, all of Jacksonville, FL; stepdaughter, Sandra Millet; stepson, Alfred "Mickey" VanFossen; thirteen great grandchildren; and thirteen great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands, Charlie D. Williams, Raymond"Van" VanFossen, and Col. Archie E. Clark; brothers, William "Bub" Kennedy and John Kennedy; stepson, Ray VanFossen; and daughter-in-law, Mary Virginia "Jenny" Williams.
