Mrs. Margaret Weatherford Rich, 81, retired from E. I. DuPont Corporation and resident of Manor Road, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols with Kirk Brothers and John Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday after 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. Born and reared in the Lynnville Community in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late John Lee Weatherford, Sr. and Bessie Mae Callahan Weatherford and attended Jones High School. She was a long-time member and supporter of activities of Graymere Church of Christ. She was married June 27, 1942 to Thomas Kidd Rich who died June 11, 2005. Survivors include two daughters, Judith Ann Rich and Kathy (Gary) Tucker, both of Columbia; a grandson, Douglas Tucker of Columbia; two sisters, Linda Weatherford of Nashville and Betty Hubbell of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John L. Weatherford, Jr., Ray Weatherford, and Don Weatherford; and two sisters, Oakie Mayo and Hazel Roland. Pallbearers are Jeremy Smith, Dennis Weatherford, Jared Smith, Joey Mayo, Tommy Mayo, Randy Hubbell, Mike Hubbell, and Gary Black.
