Video memories of Mrs. Marie HickmanMrs. Marie Davis Hickman, 84, long-time resident of the Pulaski Highway, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Life Care of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the West 7th Street Church of Christ with Barry Farris, Ricky Clay, A. T. Pate, Tim McHenry and Larry Benderman officiating. Burial will be in the McCains Cemetery. The family will visit with friends after 4:00 p.m. Monday at Oakes & Nichols. Memorials may be made to the Activity Department of Life Care of Columbia, 841 West James Campbell Boulevard, Columbia, 38401. She was a long-time member of the Stiversville Church of Christ.Active in civic and community affairs, she was a member of the James Madison Sparkman Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Mynders Community Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Mynders Home Demonstration Club (FEC), Columbia Business and Professional Women's Club, Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary, James K. Polk Memorial Association, Maury County Horsemen's Association, Maury County Chapter, APTA, Maury County Historical Society, the former Sarah Polk Garden Club and current Trotwood Garden Club.Mrs. Hickman was a avid bridge player and loved the art of needlepoint.She was married August 1, 1940 to Lester Hickman, who died January 2, 1987. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Della Maddox, Sudie Harwell Norman and two brothers, J. C. Davis and L. B. Davis.Survivors include a sister, Joan (Bobby) Dial of Smyrna; a brother, Johnny (Jane) Davis of Franklin; two aunts, Linnie (Homer) Haskins and Geneva Cherry, both of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Geneva Davis of Columbia and Marie Davis of Hutchinson, Kansas; eighteen nieces and nephews, Frances Compton, Jan Gordon, Brenda Flanigan, James Davis, Vickie Haber, Barbara Sullivan, Johnny Davis, Jr., Bobby Dial, Jr., Jimmy Harwell, Frankie Harwell, Mary Pugh, Judy Hickman, Patty Startziman, Connie Jones, Byron Davis, Tony Davis, Ann Hendrix and Carolyn Nicholson; thirty great-nieces and great-nephews; six great-great-nieces and great-nephews.Active pallbearers are James Davis, Johnny Davis, Jr., Byron Davis, Mike Hickman, Bobby Dial, Jr., Jimmy Harwell, Frankie Harwell, Tony Davis, D.
