Vivian Marie Jacobs Sparkman, 89, homemaker and resident of Carter's Creek Pike, died Friday, November 28, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Wendell Robinson and Sonny Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Burwood Cemetery in Williamson County. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Burwood Church of Christ, 3868 Johnson Hollow Road, Thompson Station 37179. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late George Edward Jacobs and Sadie Pearl Jacobs. She was a member of Burwood Church of Christ. In 1936 she married Dan Russell Sparkman who died April 8, 2004. Survivors include a brother, Thomas Edward (Ruby) Jacobs of Columbia; nieces, Edwina Jacobs of Antioch and Patsy (Jans) Hedrick of Columbia; great-niece, Brandy (Brian) Martin of Summertown. Special thanks are offered to Dr. Gibran Naddy, Kathy Childress, Louise Brown, Carol Richardson, Shirley Walters, and other friends and neighbors for their special care. Active pallbearers are Jason Dodson, Pepe Gomez, Michael Ford, Anthony Sims, Edward Dodd, Sam Alan Dodd, David Kinser, Lee Lockredge, and Morton Lockridge. Honorary pallbearers include Shirley Walters, Monroe McMeen, Jack Willis, Larry Jones, and members of Burwood Church of Christ.
