Mr. Marion English Love, 70, retired employee of International Ironworkers Union Local 492, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at his residence on Alexander Drive in Spring Hill. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday after 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home with a Masonic Service at 7:00 P.M.. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans. He was married to Christine Norman Love who preceded him in death on September 18, 1997. From 1951 - 1953, he served in the U. S. Army 2nd Indian Head Division during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4969 and Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. He was a member of the 2nd Indian Head Division Association and Sons of Confederate Veterans. Mr. Love was a 32nd Degree York Rite Mason, a member of Spring Hill Masonic Lodge 124, Al Menah Shrine Temple, Royal Arch Masons Lafayette Chapter 4, Columbia Council 139, Knights Templar Columbia Commandry 35. Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Love (Billy) Cathey of Smyrna; Pamela Love (Steve) Pulk of Spring Hill; three sisters, Helen Ruth McKee, Peggy Jean Mabry, and Judy (Tommy) Counts, all of Columbia; two brothers, Paul Sloan Love and James Allen Love, both of Columbia; two grandchildren, Eben Cathey of Memphis; Sally Cathey of Smyrna; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, David Larry Love who died in 1960. Pallbearers will be Tommy Counts, Joel Brady, Sam McElroy, John Brady, Billy Cathey, Eben Cathey, and Steve Pulk. Honorary pallbearers will be members of VFW Post 4969, Spring Hill Masonic Lodge 124, International Iron Workers Union 492, and his neighbors.
