Marjorie Louise Randall Brunson, died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born December 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James Randall, the late R.B. Toone (stepfather) and the late Elsie Toone. She was married to the late James Brunson.Marjorie Brunson was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother. She loved the beach, flowers, and was up for any adventure opportunity. She loved living in the country and the animals that came with it. She was a devout Christian and could recite any bible verse asked of her. She was a member of Glenwood Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Southport and McCain's Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She worked as a seamstress at Maury Manufacturing and worked for the Pro Shop at Stoneybrook Golf Course for more than 20 years. She married James Seay Brunson, a World War II veteran, in 1945 and was married to him until his death in February 3, 1988. Widowed, she continued her devotion to the Lord our Savior, loved spending time with her family, and caring for the many animals she adopted. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Janice Grooms; son, Jerry (Rita) Brunson; grandsons, Shane Seagraves, Scott Seagraves; great granddaughters, Brandie Seagraves, Raileigh Seagraves; great great grandson, Elijah Hankins; sister, Lucille Randall; and special friend, Lori Childress. Marjorie was preceded in death by her brother, Buddy Randall; sister, Jeannie Ruth Randall; and an infant son, James Randall Brunson. The family would like express a special thanks to the staff of NHC Hillview, Lori Childress, Faith Childress, and Angelia James.Active pallbearers will be Tony Brunson, Walt Robinson, Joe Grooms, John Gilliam, Chad Gilliam, and Virgil Stewart.
