Marjorie Helen Rountree

October 14, 1907 — February 6, 2006

Mrs. Marjorie Lee "Peggy" Rountree, 70, resident of Water Valley Road, died Monday, February 6, 2006 at Hidden Acres Health Care in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 8p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Lee Parham and Annie Mai Pipkin Parham. She was a graduate of Central High School. On November 25, 1972 she married Harry Walker Rountree of Santa Fe who survives her. Mrs. Rountree was a member of Water Valley Community Club and Water Valley F.C.E. (Homemakers) Club. She was a member of Santa Fe Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to her husband are one brother, Fred Parham of Columbia; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lyda Parham of Columbia and Mrs. Gail (Charles) Pigg of Santa Fe; and special friends Cindy Baker and Sarah Gibbs. She was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Parham. Pallbearers will be Charles Pipkin, Michael Alderson, Jeff Lafever, Charles Pigg, Bill Hyatt, Frank Jones and Charles Dillehay. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Water Valley F.C.E. Club.
