Mark Wayne Bland, 50, resident of Roy Sellers Road, died Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in Columbia. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday at Vest Hall on the Columbia Academy Campus from 11:00 A.M – 2:00 P.M. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born July 3, 1968 in Maury County, he was the son of Linda Bailey Bland of Columbia and the late Jimmy W. Bland. He was a 1986 graduate of Spring Hill School. For 32 years, he had worked for Essex in Franklin and more recently for Cleburne Farm Supply. An avid Alabama fan and outdoorsman, Mr. Bland enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and mowing yards. He was a member of Beech Grove Church of Christ. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, whom he married March 28, 1992, Tracy Smithson Bland of Columbia; children, Wesley (Morgan) Bland, Bailey Bland, and Natalie Bland all of Columbia; grandson, Owen Bland of Columbia; sisters, Vickie Parker of Columbia; Rhonda (Todd) Purtle of Spring Hill; Julie (Jason) Martin of Columbia; brother, Monty (Brenda) Bland of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Dane (Laura) Purtle, Zack (Brittany) Purtle, Chase Bland, Chance Bland, Hannah Martin, Joshua Martin; and great nephews, Campbell Purtle and Davis Purtle who loving called him “Uncle Mow”. Todd Purtle, Dane Purtle, Zack Purtle, Michael Bland, John Durham, and Jason Martin will serve as pallbearers.
