Martha Anne Hood, 61, former owner and operator of Annie’s Cleaning Business and resident of Columbia, died Sunday, January 23, 2022 at NHC Walnut Lane Columbia. Psalm 116:15, Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Kenny McFarlen officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born July 24, 1960, in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Paul R. Hood and the late Martha Brown Hood. Always enjoying spending time with her family, she was the apple of her mother and father’s eyes. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University. Miss Hood was a cat lover, enjoyed reading Bible verses and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her sister, Kathy Deshazo of Murfreesboro; nieces and nephews, Shannon (Michael) Johnson, Wendy (Greg) Caylor, Chris (Linn) Boshers, Laura (Justin) Allen, Julie Jernigan, Phillip (Mary) Jernigan; several great nieces and great nephews; special cousin, Carolyn Hood; good friend, Peggy Huff; and aunts, Nancy Gray, and Barbara Willems. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia “Trisha” Gayle Hood, and niece, Jennifer Morgan. Active pallbearers will be Chris Boshers, Michael Johnson, Justin Allen, and Phillip Jernigan.
