Martha Napier Bryant

Martha Napier Bryant, 89, homemaker, died Thursday, August 31, 2017 at her residence on Williamsport Pike with her family by her side. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Tim Paul officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 11:00 A.M until service time at the funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Harry Napier and the late Willy J. Howard Napier. On November 12, 1946, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life L. Mack Bryant, and their 65-year marriage ended with his death February 29, 2012. Mrs. Bryant was a 1946 graduate of Columbia Central High School and Mule Day Queen in 1947.Survivors include her children, Harry Mack Bryant of Columbia; Delaine Bryant Thurman of Columbia; Rebecca Bryant (Chuck) Lannom of Mt. Juliet; Scott Howard (Kim) Bryant of Columbia; John Marshall (Pam) Bryant of Columbia; Joan Bryant (Robin) Starr of Hartselle, Alabama; Suzette Bryant Shackelford of Columbia; grandchildren, Eric McCollum Thurman; Wesley Mack (Katie) Bryant; Natalie Napier (fiancée Jeff Quintana) Bryant; Kelsey Maclyn (Bruce) Lott; John Austin Bryant; Alexander Preston Bryant; Hannah Alyssa (Houston) Paul; Jessica Ann Shackelford; Lon Turner Starr; Jenny Evelyn Shackelford; Noah Scott Bryant; Shelby Lynleigh Bryant; great grandchildren, Avery Jo Bryant; Nora Macklyn Bryant; Turner Mack Lott; Henry William Lott; CiCi Quintana; Jay Quintana; Rosie Quintana; Audrey Rountree; and sister, Beth (Gerry) Lindsey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Bridget Ann Bryant.Active pallbearers will be Eric Thurman, Wesley Bryant, Austin Bryant, Alex Bryant, Lon Starr, and Noah Bryant. Honorary pallbearers include Chuck Lannom, Robin Starr, Bruce Lott, and Houston Paul. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Hospice Compassus and Maury Regional Medical Center.
