Mrs. Martha Ferguson, 70, of Pulaski passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Mrs. Ferguson and her husband made their home in Columbia when he pastored First Church of the Nazarene. Her father is remembered as former minister of Columbia's First United Methodist Church and Riverside United Methodist Church. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pulaski and retired teacher with the Giles County Board of Education. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2009, at First United Methodist Church in Pulaski. Funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at First United Methodist Church in Pulaski with Rev. Wayne Davis and Rev. Peter Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in the Triune Cemetery in Arrington, Tennessee. Memorials are suggested to, Martin Methodist College Education Department. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Majors Hinton. Survivors include her, husband, Rev. George Dudley Ferguson of Pulaski; daughter, Megan Ferguson James and husband Robert of Huntsville, Alabama; son, Peter Ferguson and wife Emily of Triune; step son, David Ferguson of Nashville; six grandchildren; father, Rev. H. Fred Blankenship and wife June of Brentwood; four sisters, Judy Cheatham and husband George of North Carolina, Julia Rich of Nashville, Freda Evans and husband John of Nashville, and Freddie Summers and husband Doug of Murfreesboro.
