MRS. EARL HOCKER Mrs. Martha Frances McCoy Hocker, 72, homemaker and resident of Zion Road, died Saturday, November 2, 2002 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Eugene Barrett and Rev. Loyd Mabry officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends after 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Browder, Kentucky native was the daughter of the late Richard McCoy and Alma Barbee McCoy and attended Hughes-Kirk School in Beachmont, Kentucky. She was married January 16, 1946 to Rev. Earl Hocker, who survives. She was his able helpmate for many years as he pastored United Methodist Churches, including the Santa Fe Charge, until his retirement. She was a member of the Enterprise United Methodist Church and the Tennessee United Methodist Church Conference of Minister Mates. In addition to her husband survivors include two daughters, Janice Lovett and Cathy (Don) Barber, both of Columbia; two sons, Harold (Kathy) Hocker and Darrell Hocker, both of Columbia; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Nell Bailey of Missouri. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as active pallbearers. Granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers.
