Martha E McKinnes Lyles

Mrs. Martha Ellen McKinnes Lyles, 59, school teacher and resident of Bullock Street, died Friday, August 4, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Alan Corry officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday after 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Scottsville, Kentucky. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. The Perth Amboy, New Jersey native was the daughter of the late Alfred McKinnes and Ida Post McKinnes. She received her B.A. at Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky and her Masters Degree at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Mrs. Lyles was an English Language Learners Teacher in the Maury County School System. Survivors include her husband of thirty-two years, Ronald M. Lyles of Columbia; one daughter, Heather Lyles of Columbia; a son, Scott Lyles of Bowling Green, Kentucky; a sister, Joan Feins of Beach Haven, New Jersey; two brothers, John (Linda) McKinnes of Sunrise, Florida; Les McKinnes of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
