MRS. CLAUDE B. SPARKMAN Mrs. Martha Harbison Sparkman 91, long-time resident of the Santa Fe Pike in the Athendale Community, died Friday, August 16, 2002 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Richard Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Knob Creek Cemetery. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Eddie R. Harbison and Nora Fitzgerald Harbison. She was a charter member of the Riverview Baptist Church. October 17, 1931 she married Claude Butler Sparkman , who preceded her in death Spetember 28, 1992. She is survived by two daughters, Ruth (Joe) Ford and Martha Ann Dye (Danny) Allen, both of Columbia; ten grandchidlren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Harold Sparkman and a grandson, Jeffery Len Ford. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Christopher Dye, Jonathan Dye, Mike Ford, Dewayne Sparkman, Randy Sparkman, Eddie Sparkman and Ronnie Sparkman. Honorary pallbearers include Dianne McGaw, Susan Potts, Donna Pionk, Doug Pilkinton, Leon Walters, Billy Walters, Jimmy Aslinger, Jerry & Aline Norman, Dr. Gaylon Harris, members of the Riverview Baptist Church and the staff of NHC Hillview.
