Martha Shannon Wales

Mrs. Martha Ann Shannon Wales, 76, resident of Brookside Drive, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Charles Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Ardmore, Alabama native was the daughter of the late Deemer Shannon and Neeter Hobbs Shannon. She was retired from Winning Moves and was a former employee of Lovett's IGA/Super Rama Grocery. Mrs. Wales was a member of the Baptist Church. On August 2 she would have been married to her husband, Bobby Wales, for sixty years. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Wales of Columbia; two daughters, Frankie (Tracy) Seat of Huntsville, AL and Dawn (Jim) Patterson of Columbia; one son, Bobby (Cindy) Wales of Columbia; two sisters, Jess (Al) Williams and Bess Smith both of Ardmore, AL; five grandchildren, Rob Wales, ParkeWales, Chip Wales, Lowry Patterson all of Columbia and Wesley Seat of Huntsville, AL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Shannon and Calvin Shannon. Pallbearers will be Rob Wales, Parke Wales, Chip Wales, Wesley Seat, Ricky Shannon, Jeff Williams, Tim Smith and Craig Patterson.
