Marvin Clay Hunt, 48, life-long resident of Columbia and machine operator for Tim Steward Excavating, passed away suddenly Thursday, October 25, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Wendall Allman and Calvin Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born January 11, 1970 in Maury County, he was the son of Elsie Marie Chapman Steward and the late Melvin Calvin Hunt. Clay loved fishing and hunting. A family man, he had love for his family, friends, and anyone that knew him. He was always full of laughter and happiness, he enjoyed sharing his joy everywhere he went. In addition to his mother, survivors include his son, CJ Jones; daughter, Crystal Star Gomez; brother, Melvin Glenn Hunt; nephew, Calvin Hunt; and niece, Desiree Hunt. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dudley Wayne Hunt. Active pallbearers will be CJ Jones, Carlton “Rocky” Baker, Eddie Davis, David Young, Malcom McNeese, and Mark Black. Honorary include Charles Butler, Jr., Daniel Estep, and Mark Fault.
