Mr. Marvin Anderson King, 73, resident of East 18th Street, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Curtis Dowdy and Donnie King officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The Hickman County native was the son of the late Ben King and Julia Jewell Morton King. He served in the United States Army. Mr. King was employed at E.T. Dalton & Co. for twenty-four years and also worked for Uni-Web. He was a member of Highland Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Hala Mae Daniel King of Columbia; a daughter, Mrs. Margo Mae (Darrel) Andrews of Santa Fe; two sons, Vance (Melissa) King and Charlie (Rita) King both of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Rachel Lea King, Sarah Grace King, Ashton Nicole (James) McCandless, Bethany Leann King, Charlie Darlene King, Hala Diane Andrews, Benjamin Riley Andrews; and two brothers, Bobby (Diane) King, and Ricky King. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Bennie King, Ralph King, Wilburn King, Harold King, Paul King and one sister, Barbara Ann McGaw. Pallbearers will be Eddie Sparkman, Ronnie Fitzgerald, Brandon Sparkman, Joshua Sparkman, Benji King, Walter Fitzgerald, Steve King and Tommy King. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Highland Church of Christ.
