View Video Tribute Mary Alice Potts Jones, 91, former resident of Williamsport Pike, died Sunday, June 19, 2022 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 4:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Anthony Muston officiating. A private burial will follow on Thursday at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 2:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born May 20, 1931 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Horace Potts and the late Icie Byrd Potts. In 1951, she married Luther Porter “Bill” Jones who preceded her in death January 28, 2006. For many years, Mrs. Jones worked at Maury Manufacturing as an inspector and then worked in cafeteria for Farm Bureau for several years. She enjoyed square dancing, line dancing, collecting antique glassware, growing flowers, and working in her yard. Mrs. Jones was member of Knob Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn (Tommy) Beard of Columbia, Ricky Porter (Pam) Jones of Columbia, Tracy Allen (Sheri) Jones of Columbia; sisters, Mable Goodwin of Columbia, Ivie Parr of Columbia, Barbara Cole of Columbia, Beatrice (Jimmy) Duvall of Columbia; brother, Larry Potts of Columbia; brother-in-law, Leslie Malugin; grandchildren, Lindsey Jones (Jason) Bartlett, Luke (Elizabeth) Jones, Caleb (Suzanne) Beard, Aftan (Scotty) Faulkner, Anna Jones; great grandchildren, Beckham Faulkner, Emerson Faulkner, Cambelle Faulkner, Beau Bartlett, Sidney Jones, Cruz Beard; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Wesley Potts, Buster Potts, G.C. Potts, Eva Mae Potts, Ruby Malugin, and infant siblings, Patricia Potts, Jack Potts and Jill Potts. Active pallbearers will be Caleb Beard. Scotty Faulkner, Beckham Faulkner, Hunter Woody, Luke Jones, and Jason Bartlett. Honorary pallbearers include members of Knob Creek Baptist Church.
