Mary Christina Proffitt Ayers

Mrs. Mary Christina Proffitt Ayers, 26, former employee of Waffle House and resident of Hampshire Pike, died Sunday, September 21, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, at Rose Hill Cemetery with Mike Coop officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 12:00 noon until 1:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The San Angelo, Texas native was the daughter of Bonnie Jean Thames Patterson of San Antonio, Texas and the late Eugene Claude Proffitt. She attended Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Shane Ayers of Columbia; three children, Stacey Renea Proffitt, Bonnie Nicole Ayers, Mary Katherine Ayers all of Columbia; step-father, Billy Patterson of San Antonio, Texas; mother-in-law, Brenda Tannehill of Columbia; two sisters-in-law, Joanne (Jack) Burke, Katherine Hows both of Columbia; niece, Hailey Faith Emerson of Columbia; and nephew, Jacob Michael Hows of Columbia. Pallbearers will be Jack Burke, Linda Lawrence, Mike Guess.
