Mrs. Mary Charlene Jarrett Baucum, 58, elementary school teacher, died Thursday, November 30, 2006 at her residence on Chasepointe Place. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Columbia Academy Vest Hall with Randy Owens and Gipson Baucum, Sr. officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in Vest Hall. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Baucum was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and had taught at Columbia Academy for the past several years. She was a member of West Seventh Street Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband of thirty-six years, Gipson H. Baucum, Sr. of Columbia; one son, Gipson H. Baucum, Jr. of Acworth, Georgia; two daughters, Jennifer E. Baucum of Nashville; Cherri Lynn Walker of Henderson,; two brothers, Charles Jarrett, Jr. of Spencer; Marvin Jarrett of Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Emily Claire Baucum, William Henry Baucum, Mary Katherine Walker, Pearce Alexander Walker; and seven nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Douglas Jarrett, Matt Jarrett, Tres Baucum, Brent Roberts, Bill Baucum, Eric Baucum, Terry Roberts, Mike Kesler, and Jeremy Butt.
